ESPN America has a game every evening, including two from the Toronto-Detroit series and a Friday game from Wrigley Field.

BBC 5 Live Sports Extra will feature Detroit for the second Thursday in a row and if the starting pitcher schedules hold true it should be a good match-up on the mound between Josh Johnson and Doug Fister.

  1. Hi Matt,

I’m getting a bit more back into MLB this year. This might be a silly question, but presumably the MLB TV free game of the day is just an early-season gimmick to show it off and get people like me hooked…?

Watching Cueto and Strasburg duel last night as I prepared dinner was rather nice (and for free!).

I’ve got my radio subscription going again, in any case.

    Cheers,

    Joe

      Hi Joe

The Free Game of the Day feature was there all last season so hopefully that will apply again this season. They do tend to do a decent number of day games as well (a cynic would suggest that working week day games free still allows the networks to get their audience figures in the evening!).

Your comment is a good reminder that I hadn’t put the Free Games on this post! They normally only have them highlighted a couple of days ahead, rather than for the whole week, so I’m going to build that in to update the post as I’m doing them all season.

      Cheers
      Matt
