We begin with the biggest winners of the week, who turned out to be my Isotopes. A much-needed 9-2 victory against the Riverkings included a pitching sweep. Archer was the pick of the starters with a win, Jimenez struck out 14 and Leake helped take ERA and WHIP. There were hat-tricks of saves for Romo and Soriano while Howell picked up the lone hold. Puig (3HR, 10 RBIs) had a big week, helping to take average with Machado and Utley.  The Riverkings had the edge in runs thanks to Wright Desmond, Byrd while Villar and Carlos Santana(!) stole bases.

Batteries Essential claimed 9-3 win against the Knights, including an offensive sweep. Cespedes and Starlin Castro each drove in six, Walker homered twice and Hamilton stole three bases, while Stanton helped take average and OPS after hitting .417 for the week. Rosenthal had three saves and Odorizzi, Wacha, Volquez, Garza and Varga all posted WHIPs of 1 or under. Shields had two wins and 11 strikeouts for the Knights, while Minor and Gray helped take ERA. Goldschmidt, Bautista and V-Mart homered twice.

The Butchers are back on top after beating the Slugs 8-3. Encarnacion and Francisco each had three-homer weeks, while Yelich and Carl Crawford hit a pair as the Butchers slugged 13 round-trippers in total. Clippard had two wins and two holds while Price struck out 19. Beckett, Hutchison and Richards helped take ERA and WHIP. The Slugs won average thanks to Fielder, Donaldson and Victorino while Chavez won twice and struck out 13. McGee and Siegrist had three holds each.

The Sox got back to winning ways by defeating Jesmond 7-4. Gordon homered twice and drove in six, while Fowler scored six runs and hit .450 as the offense took four categories. Cole’s win on Sunday proved crucial, as did his 14 strikeouts, while Greinke helped take ERA and WHIP with another stingy week. Jesmond had RBIs and steals from Phillips, Trout, Pagan and Stubbs, while Perkins and O’Day took care of saves and holds.

Norwich edged past Iron Men 7-5, with the pitching staff sweeping all six categories. Porcello won twice, Smyly struck out seven and the pair of Tigers teamed with Peralta to take ERA and WHIP. Chapman, Jansen and Watson took care of saves and holds, while McCutchen’s two steals proved very important. Iron Men had multi-homer weeks from Morse and Adam Jones, while Kinsler and Asdrubal Cabrera combined for 11 runs.

The Bananas dealt Beck ‘Nams a 6-5 loss in a very tight matchup. Tulo and Marte each homered twice, while Werth and Young scored five runs each. Hamels was the pick of the starters with a win and 10 strikeouts, while K-Rod and Janssen had two saves each. Beck ‘Nams had the edge in average and OPS thanks to Dozier, Beltre and Reyes, while Wood, Darvish and Kuroda all recorded double-digit strikeouts.

The RBIs caused an upset by defeating the Chasers 6-5 in another very close matchup. CJ Wilson helped the pitchers win four categories with a  win and 15 strikeouts, teaming up with Tanaka to take ERA and WHIP by a hair. Gardner scored six times, homered twice, drove in seven and stole three bases. The Chasers had power and average from Ortiz (four homers), Miggy, Tex and McCann (two each) and Nathan had four saves.

Finally, Bits & Bytes squeezed past the Angels 5-4. Solarte scored eight runs, helped by this three homers, while Bogaerts and Segura helped take average. King Felix won twice, striking out 12 and Ziegler had three holds. The Angels had the edge in RBIs thanks to Springer, CarGo and Prado, while Everth Cabrera homered twice and joined Murphy in swiping a pair. Lee helped take ERA and WHIP.
