It seems 8-4 was a popular score with the top three, as Iron Men defeated Batteries Essential by the same margin. Kang had a three-homer week, while Kendrick and JD Martinez (who drove in nine) each went deep twice and helped take OPS by a hair. The pitchers won all categories except saves, with Keuchel, Wacha and Heston picking up wins. Watson had two holds and Cole struck out eight. Machado scored seven runs for Batteries essential, while Billy Hamilton swiped five bases. Kipnis batted .400 before his injury, while Papelbon and Romo each had a save.

Norwich put a stop to the mini revival from the Isotopes, defeating my team 7-4. Abreu (seven runs, 10 RBIs) made the difference in those categories, while the pitchers carried the load with five out of six categories. Syndergaard won twice and struck out 18, joining new Dodger Wood in taking ERA and WHIP. Kimbrel and Jansen had two saves each. Nelson Cruz hit four homers for the isotopes, Alexei Ramirez went deep three times and Ethier helped take OPS with his two-homer Sunday. Altuve had the lone steal.

TRADE DEADLINE REMINDER

The deadline for making trades in the league is August 16, so don’t be afraid to have a look at other team’s rosters and make a few trade offers, particularly if you have holes to fill and a surplus in another area to deal from.
