Four MLB.tv games today

by Matt Smith

There’s nothing quite like sitting down on a Sunday evening and watching a ballgame or two.  There are four games to choose from today on MLB.tv, with the majority of the other games being available on Gameday Audio.

At 17.35(GMT), the Reds face the Blue Jays with Bronson Arroyo and A.J. Burnett listed as the scheduled starters.

Fans of the knuckleball (and – hitters excepted - who isn’t a fan of the knuckleball?), can watch Tim Wakefield pitching for Boston against the Twins from 18.05.  Livan Hernandez will be making his ‘unofficial’ debut for Minnesota.

After a fraught off-season, Andy Pettitte can retreat to the relative sanctuary of the mound at 18.15.  He will face Cole Hamels and the Phillies, which should make for an interesting contest.  The Yankees beat the Phillies 9-3 yesterday.

Finally, the Giants take on the Cubs at 20.05, with Matt Cain and Ted Lilly the respective starters.  San Francisco will be eager to bounce back after being marmalized by the A’s yesterday.  Losses in March don’t count for anything when the regular season begins, but no one likes to lose 23-5.  Barry Zito’s pitching line against his former team (0.2 innings pitched, seven hits allowed, eight runs and an ERA of 108.00) is about as painful as it gets.
