Fancy watching some baseball with a difference this weekend? Mister-Baseball.com reports that Stadeo.TVwill be broadcasting games from the Challenge de France tournament on Saturday and Sunday. The tournament will be a demonstration of the best baseball in France, which should make for very interesting viewing.Â
Thanks to MLB.tv, like many other British fans I’m fortunate to be able to watch and listen to lots of MLB action. 2,430 regular season games are enough to satisfy even the biggest baseball nut, but it’s great to add a bit of variety into your baseball diet by catching some non-MLB games. Naturally the level of play will fall below the supreme standards set in the Big Leagues; however there’s a certain charm to watching games that don’t involve highly-paid stars playing in grand stadiums. It’s baseball in a simpler (perhaps purer?) form.
The games will be streamed live over the internet and there’s no mention of a fee on their website, so it looks like they will be free to view. There are three games scheduled for Saturday, with Paris University Club facing La Guerche Hawks at 12.30 (BST) and the two semi-finals beginning at 16.00 and 19.30. On Sunday, it’s an early 9.00 start for the bronze medal game before the Challenge de France final at 14.00.
It should be well worth taking a look and seeing what French baseball has to offer.
