Condensed Games are back
Great news for MLB.TV subscribers. Just a week or so after the loss of MLB.com’s ‘condensed games’ feature was highlighted here, they have been brought back from the dead. Coincidence? Yes, but my thoughts were reflective of the general mood of longer-term subscribers and it looks like MLB.com have listened to their most loyal customers (rightfully so).
The Condensed Games were reintroduced on Monday and hopefully this is not a temporary move. Only time will tell, but it would be strange to bring them back only to take them away again, particularly after the decision to remove them from the subscription package in the first place was so controversial. Browsing through the games from Tuesday, the length of the videos varies by quite a lot. Fans of the Cardinals and the Nationals only got 53 seconds to watch, while those of you interested in the Orioles-Twins game were treated to eighteen minutes of highlights. The average duration was around ten minutes and although the editing is a little rough and ready, it’s difficult not to be delighted by the return of this feature.
Condensed Games are a much-loved part of the MLB.tv subscription. Well done MLB.com for listening to your customers, accepting that a mistake had been made and putting things right.
