News from the National League

After the latest set of results, and nearly two-thirds of the regular season completed, the London Mets have a 5-game lead in the division over the Richmond Flames in the National League South. Meanwhile, the Croydon Pirates and Bracknell Blazers are in a battle to avoid a last-place finish. They are due to face each other in a double-header at Roundshaw Playing Fields this Sunday. After those two games, there is a 3-week break from league games in the south, which will provide a good point to reflect on the individual performances so far this season.

While the two qualifying spots in the south would appear to already have been decided, the race in the National League North is still very much alive. The Manchester Eagles look good for the top spot, with a 9-2 record, but just half a game separates the second-place Liverpool Trojans and third-place Menwith Hill Patriots – and only one of those teams will qualify.

The National Finals are scheduled for 6 and 7 September. The venue is yet to be announced.
