I was looking forward to the All Star break in any case, but the e-mail that MLB has just sent out to MLB.tv subscribers has added to my anticipation for the event:
“Dear MLB.TV Customer,
As a bonus for our current MLB.TV customers, our exclusive All-Star Package is included, at no additional charge, as part of your current subscription. You will have access to all of the content listed below.
Exclusive Video Content:
- All-Star player access (interviews / profiles)
- All-Star Game available on-demand (available 45 minutes after game)
- Pre- and Post-Game shows
ÂLive Streaming Video of:
- All-Star Game batting practice
- State Farm Home-Run Derby
- Olympic Baseball Team selection show
- XM All-Star Futures Game
- Taco Bell All-Star Legends and Celebrity Softball Game”
Obviously, I’ll be enjoying Five’s coverage of the actual All Star game, but the Home Run Derby and the Futures Game should both be worth watching at the very least.
UPDATE: And if you’re not already an MLB.tv subscriber, you can buy the above package for just $2.95 (£1.50 - although you may have to add a £1 or so on top for the overseas transaction, depending on who you bank with). More details on MLB.com here.
