BaseballSoftballUK has helpfully put together some details about the (almost non-existent) coverage on British TV of baseball and softball from the Olympic Games. I’ve been able to uncover a few more details on the BBC website and have listed the full schedule below. Of course, all of this is subject to change based on the whims of the TV schedulers.Â
As stated by BSUK, none of the games are being shown on terrestrial TV. You will need to be able to access additional digital content via the red button through a Freeview box or Sky/Cable to catch any Olympic baseball or softball.  It doesn’t look like any baseball or softball will be shown on Eurosport.
There are three ‘red button’ channels on Freeview  (cunningly labelled 1, 2 and 3) and six ‘red button’ channels via Sky or Cable (1 to 6), hence the references to ‘Satellite/Cable 5’ etc.
BASEBALL
Friday 22 AugustÂ
3.30 (am). Live coverage of the first semi-final is available in the early hours via the red button on Freeview 3 or Satellite/Cable 4.
15.30. The second semi-final is being shown ‘off tape’ in the afternoon via the red button on Satellite/Cable 6.
Saturday 23 AugustÂ
3.30 (am). Live coverage of the bronze medal match is available via the red button on Satellite/Cable 5.
15.30. The final is being shown ‘off tape’ via the red button on Satellite/Cable 5.
SOFTBALL
Wednesday 20 AugustÂ
3.45 (am). Coverage of one of the semi-finals is available via the red button on Freeview 2 and Satellite/Cable 3.
6.00 (am). Coverage of the other semi-final (presumably anyway, it’s not completely clear) is available via the red button on Satellite/Cable 5.
10.00 (am). Live coverage of the bronze medal match is available via the red button on Freeview 2 and Satellite/Cable 3.
17.15. A repeat showing of the bronze medal match is available via the red button on Satellite/Cable 5.
Thursday 21 August
17.00. The final is being shown ‘off tape’ via the red button on Satellite/Cable 5.
It’s possible that the one baseball game and two softball games listed as being shown on Freeview also will be accessible to British viewers online via the BBC website.  Â
