MLB this Week: Two weeks to go

by Matt Smith

CovMLBUK2014With just two weeks of the MLB regular season to go, there is still plenty to play for and that’s shown in the games starting pre-midnight UK time this working week.

The Angels and Astros are playing a potentially crucial three-game series this week and the finale on Wednesday is a day-game for us to enjoy. Meanwhile their rival in the AL West/Wild Card race the Texas Rangers take on the Oakland A’s in an early game on Thursday.

The week will end with the start of a big series from Wrigley Field between the Cubs and the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The White Sox and Tigers are in early action twice and although neither team has had the season they hoped for, that’s unlikely to reduce the enthusiasm on Wednesday if – as scheduled – we get a pitching duel between Chris Sale and Justin Verlander.

All times are in BST.
