BGB Fantasy League reminder

by Matt Smith

BgbFantasyDon’t forget that we will be running a Fantasy League this season.  Mark, Joe and I will all be competing and we’ve already had several readers sign up to join in the fun.  Full details about the league, which we are planning to run as a Head2Head competition, can be found in the previous post.

The format is designed to appeal to Brits with little to no fantasy experience (like Joe and myself) as well as seasoned fantasy players (like Mark). We’re also more than happy to see baseball fans from other parts of the world joining in too.

I will be writing a fortnightly article about the league (and my experiences playing it as a relative fantasy novice) for another Fantasy Baseball website.  And, of course, it will be a regular topic here at BaseballGB.co.uk and on Twitter (have you signed up yet?!), so it will be a great way to interact with the site.

Those of you reading my Twitter account will know that the research has already begun, although in truth it has mainly involved me finding things on the web, thinking to myself “that looks useful”, and not doing much else with the info so far!

If you are interested in taking part, let us know either through the comments box below or by sending me an e-mail by putting matt in front of @baseballgb.co.uk in your e-mail address box. (Note: those of you who’ve already signed up don’t need to do so again)

Why don’t you guys just play in the h2h world series with all the others? We have about 30 Brits up and running right now, for a few seasons now, and we would love to have ya too. In no time at all, you’ll be climbing the standings … just you watch.

Hi. We would like to run our own self-contained BGB league if possible, but thanks for the offer. It would be useful for us to have as a back-up plan at the very least.

Really looking forward to this!! Do you know if the draft is going to be on a weekday? Just need to know whether I should book the day off work.

I’ve been doing some research too so far, not sure how much good it will do but we will see once the season starts!

wrveres: I might do. I’ll give it some thought.

Clive: We haven’t arranged a date yet. It will be near the end of March and I’m not expecting that it will be on a workday (or at least not during the day on a work day!). Glad to hear you’re still keen.

Clive: Thanks for signing up. We might have to slightly shift the date and time of the draft, but Mark will send out further details so that we can find a time and date to suit everyone.

Mike: Welcome to the site and our fantasy league! I’ll ask Mark to send you the details.
