It’s BaseballGB fantasy roundup time again – slightly later this week. Thanks to Matt for pinch-blogging for me last week.
So how have the results affected the standings?

My Isotopes caused a bit of an upset, defeating SWAT 6-4. Ryan Howard (3 HR, 7 RBIs) was the pick of my hitters while the bullpen helped make up for the lack of wins with a pair of holds. Miguel Cabrera’s injury didn’t help SWAT, while Matt Wieters is off to a slow start … so far.

Russ took advantage of his matchup with cellar dwellers Tribal Warfare, coasting to an 8-2 win, thanks to the power of Prince Fielder and the power/speed duo of Carl Crawford and Mark Reynolds. Erik Bedard was the pick of the pitchers, although Russ will need to act now Grady Sizemore is on the DL.

Chris enjoyed a 9-1 win over the Bangers as his hitters took all six categories, led by Matt Holliday (7 runs, 2 HR, 9 RBIs). The Stuff’s bullpen had an excellent week, as Fuentes, Hoffman, Parnell and Downs combined for an ERA of 0.00 and collected five saves. Only Dan Haren’s bad luck stopped the Stuff taking wins as well.

Â
The Typos had an excellent week with a 9-3 win over the Bats. The red-hot Lyle Overbay was the star batter, while Roy Halladay (2 wins, 20 K, 2.00 ERA, 0.83 WHIP) was by far the best pitcher. The Bats had plenty of speed, and came very close to winning average and put up a very respectable ERA and WHIP.

The matchup between the Whos and the Angels saw the pitchers put up close numbers across the board, with little separating any category. But JJ’s hitters, with good production up and down the lineup, gave him the edge in a 6-4 win.

Â
Solid all-round production from his batters saw Clive take an 8-2 win over The Chasers. The New York pair of Wright and Damon helped Bonestalkers take five of the six hitting categories, while the Chasers could only manage one win but picked up five saves. Bonestalkers have three players which can be put on the DL, and reinforcements could help them get further over .500.

Syracuse Nationals | 26 | 8 | 36 | 4 | .298 | .870 | 3 | 8 | 22 | 0 | 1.96 | 1.17 | 7 |
Â
The Nationals picked up a 7-4 win over The Gas, despite being outscored and outhomered. They won the other hitting categories and some very impressive pitching – including eight saves from the bullpen, an ERA of 1.96 and a WHIP of 1.17 -Â sealed the victory.
Â
The results leave Russ top of the table, four games ahead of The Wright Stuiff and SWAT.
The Whos are seven games back in fourth, closely followed by the Typos, Chasers, Bats, Nationals, Bonestalkers, Isotopes and Angels.
The Bangers and the Gas have work to do to climb the table, and it looks as though Tribal Warfare will be this year’s Washington if they don’t try to make changes.
