The Gas squeezed past the Giants with a 6-5 win. Russ was playing without the injured Sizemore and Francisco, and saw Kendrick demoted to AAA during the week. Had he picked up replacements, he could well have won this matchup.

After a couple of rough weeks, SWAT rebounded by beating the Whos 7-4. A number of categories remained very close, notably average, which saw .003 separate the two teams. Figgins scored 10 runs for the Whos, although Johan Santana suffered a rare rough outing.

My Isotopes enjoyed a comfortable 11-1 win over Tribal Warfare, who handed me all six pitching categories by failing to pitch the required weekly minimum of 20 innings. Utley and DeRosa were my star hitters while BJ Upton stole seven bases for the Warfare.

Bonestalkers and the Bangers played out a 6-6 tie. The Bangers’ bats – notably Troy Tulowitzki – were on fire, belting 15 homers. But Bonestalkers’ pitching staff put up very impressive numbers, thanks to Lincecum, Scherzer, Cueto and five saves from Street.

The Cheddar Chasers saw their bats lift them to a 7-3 win over the Bats, winning five of the six hitting categories. Jeremy Hermida was the star hitter for the Chasers, while Javier Vazquez’s great week helped with the wins in ERA (by 0.02) and WHIP.

The Wright Stuff came out on top in a pretty close matchup with the Angels, who won the hitting categories 3-2. The Stuff’s pitching staff saved the day for Chris, taking four categories while posting impressive an ERA and WHIP.

Joe’s Typos fell below .500 after a 9-2 loss to the Nationals, who took all six hitting categories. Big power weeks from Pujols and Lind helped the Nats, with the Typos taking ERA and WHIP mainly thanks to Cliff Lee.

The results leave Russ at the top, two games ahead of SWAT. The Stuff are 1/2 a game further back, with the Nationals and Chasers both 5 1/2 back and my Isotopes rounding out the top six.
This week’s fixtures see the Giants take on the Nationals while its 2nd v 3rd as SWAT face the Wright Stuff.
