This is an abbreviated version of my weekly ‘early games’ post, as I’m in Rotterdam at the moment. I’ve listed the games and their British start times, but have left out the starting pitchers. Check out the ‘probable pitchers’ page at MLB.com for the full details.Â
It’s actually a good week for Brits as Tuesday is the only day that doesn’t provide at least one live game to follow during the British evening.Â
Monday 6 July
18.05. Blue Jays @ Yankees –
We start the week with a game from the AL East and the new Yankee Stadium. The Blue Jays are trying to climb the division and beating the Yankees is as good a way as any to achieve that aim.
Tuesday 7 July
There are no early games tomorrow. There’s a full slate of MLB games later on, or if you do want to follow some live baseball in the British evening, head over to the World Port Tournament website and check in on the game from Rotterdam as Taiwan takes on Cuba at 18.00.
Wednesday 8 July
19.05 Pirates @ Astros –
19.20. Braves @ Cubs –
20.10. Nationals @ Rockies –
20.40. Padres @ D-Backs –
20.45. Marlins @ Giants -Â
21.40. Orioles @ Mariners –
A good selection of games on Wednesday to follow up the opening day of the 2009 Ashes series.
Thursday 9 July
17.08. Blue Jays @ Rays –
18.10. Yankees @ Twins –
19.05. Indians @ White Sox –
19.05. Cardinals @ Brewers –
Another decent selection with a top game from the NL Central and games involving teams from the AL East and AL Central.
Friday 10 July
19.20. Cardinals @ Cubs –
It’s one of the greatest rivalries in baseball: you don’t get much better than the Cardinals against the Cubs in a day game at Wrigley.Â
All the above games can be followed via various resources on MLB.com (Gameday, Gameday Audio and MLB.tv), while ESPN America’s MLB schedule can be found here.
